I’m Evan, the hands and mind behind Toploader Designs Co.
Before I ever touched a laser engraver, I spent ten years in the Army as a Tanker and Master Gunner — a job that demanded precision, patience, and a deep respect for the machines that carried us. That mindset never left me. I’ve always been drawn to things that are built to last — gear you can count on, made with care and purpose.

That appreciation started long before the military. My dad raised me on old cars — steel, chrome, and carburetors — the kind of machines you felt in your chest. My mom, on the other hand, taught me the value of making things by hand and putting care into the details. Toploader Designs Co. is the result of both of those worlds.

This brand is my way of keeping something alive — a slowly fading appreciation for the old ways. For tools you keep for decades. For objects with soul. For the blend of form and function that defined an earlier generation. Every piece I make carries that spirit: clean, custom, and cut with intention.
